How? Use a flashlight to cast shadows of objects, show the physical object and say their Chinese names (e.g., "这是什么?" - What is this?)
Why? It helps toddlers associate shapes and words in a fun, exploratory way.


AUDITORY
E.g. Music call & Response Game
How? Play a Chinese word-and-response game with simple beats (e.g., clapping, tapping a drum) & using instruments!
Why? Rhythm and repetition reinforce pronunciation and word recognition.


KINESTHETIC

How? Create an obstacle course using different colored, shaped and textured mats!
Why? Gross motor skills, balance, and feet sensory! To activate the vestibular and proprioceptive systems. These are responsible for balance, spatial awareness and body positioning!


TACTILE
E.g. Mystery Texture Box - Guess the Object!
How? Place different objects (e.g., soft cotton, bumpy orange peel, rough sandpaper) in a box.
Let toddlers feel the object without looking.
Ask them “这是什么?” (Zhè shì shén me? - What is this?)
Reveal the object and say its name in Chinese.
Why? Enhances sensory memory and connects words to textures.


SMELL
E.g. Scratch & Sniff Chinese Smell Game
How? Prepare different scented items (e.g., orange peel, cinnamon, flowers) in small containers or use scented stickers.
Why? Associating words with smells strengthens recall and enhances sensory exploration.


TASTE
E.g. Teach taste words by letting toddlers explore safe, mild flavors. *with permission!
How? Prepare tiny samples of sweet and sour foods (e.g., mashed banana for sweet, diluted lemon juice for sour).
